What kind of trends does the 2009 Trend Report cover?

The report covers dozens of updated and new consumer trends, across all B2C industries. As you have come to expect from us, featured trends come with numerous examples of how other brands around the world are already capitalizing on them. This year too, we've included exclusive videos (street interviews with consumers in dozens of cities) as well. For a complete overview, please check the Table of Contents .

Will the report be relevant to my industry, or the market/region we're in?

Firstly, the report deals with consumer needs and wants. As those needs and wants are increasingly global, and can be applied across all industries, the report is relevant to any brand looking to innovate in the B2C arena, in any consumer society in the world.

Which is why such a wide range of brands from more than 50 countries purchased our previous reports.

Furthermore, the examples featured in the report come from a wide range of industries (automotive, food & beverage, IT, transportation and hospitality, telecom, fashion, architecture, electronics, finance, utilities, retail, media & entertainment and advertising) and countries.

Who bought your previous reports (the 2007 and 2008 editions), and what did they have to say about them?

Many Fortune 500 companies, as well as many smaller organizations and agencies, bought the 2007 and 2008 Trend Reports. Job titles of purchasers so far include marketers, insight managers, heads of innovation, entrepreneurs, CEOs, agency planners, creative directors, product & business development managers and other business professionals depending on being in the know. Have a look at some testimonials.

What is the difference between your free monthly Trend Briefings and the 2009 Trend Report?

Besides plenty of new, never before published trend material, the report also provides important updates on previously published trends, and ties together our most important trends, providing context and hands-on tips on how to profit from them, including numerous new examples. The videos included with the report are exclusive too.

Format

What format does the 2009 Trend Report come in?

The report is written and designed in PowerPoint. The 150+ slides contain hundreds of pictures and graphics, while the notes section for each slide contains the theory part. Both the text and visuals follow a clear story line. To facilitate printing/reading purposes, we also include a PDF version of the entire report.

Can I change or adjust the slides and notes?

Yes. In fact, we invite you to! The entire report comes in a fully 'open' PowerPoint format, leaving it up to you if you want to use/incorporate our content 'as is', or adjust it to your own specific needs concerning fonts/visuals/texts/headers and so on.

Will the PowerPoint file work with my Mac?

Yes, the 2009 Trend Report has been optimized to work on both PCs and Macs.

What format do the videos come in?

The videos come in Windows and Mac compatible QuickTime format, and can be downloaded from the Extras section.

How do I access report tips, videos and updates?

After receiving your copy of the 2009 Trend Report, you'll also receive (via email) a personal user name and password which will give you exclusive access to the Extras section on our website. Updates will be added until late August 2009, and you will receive an email notification whenever new material becomes available.

What if I lose my copy or download of the report?

If you lose your copy of the report due to a hardware crash, or you've misplaced your CD-ROM, we will provide you with a new copy. Just email your client details to Janna, our Trend Report Coordinator, at janna@trendwatching.com, and she'll help you out.

Cost / discounts / timing

How much does the 2009 Trend Report cost?

We've kept things affordable: the price of the report is only $799 / €599 / £599*.

This is significantly less than most trend reports out there, which are often in the thousands of dollars/euros/pounds, but we enjoy a bit of trend democratization ;-)

What if I want to give others access to the report?

Here’s how it works: the report is for internal use, for you and your team. If a colleague from another department, branch, or country needs the report as well, we expect him or her to purchase his or her own copy. To ensure fair use, we will monitor the IP number associated with each log-in session to the Trend Report Extras.

We have on purpose kept the report very affordable, so individuals at both small and large organizations will be able to afford their own copies. We ask you to respect this 'honor' system, as the alternative would be a very expensive, global license system, pushing up the price of the 2009 Trend Report into the thousands of euros, dollars or pounds for everyone.

Oh, and to further state the obvious: you cannot repackage/resell the report without our permission.

If you have any questions, just email Janna, our Trend Report Coordinator, at janna@trendwatching.com.

Do you offer discounts to non-profits or universities?

We only have a few copies of the 2009 Trend Report available at a discounted price for established / worthy charities, and non-commercial educational institutions. To apply for a discount (we can’t guarantee anything), please email Janna, our Trend Report Coordinator, at janna@trendwatching.com.

Delivery

Delivery of the report is by secure, instant download, or express-shipped CD-ROM (handled by FedEx worldwide). The latter has proven useful for clients who are either on a very slow online connection, or whose companies' firewalls make it impossible to properly download any files.

Terms and conditions

Will I be able to get a refund if the report doesn’t meet my expectations?

If you feel the report really doesn’t deliver on what we’ve been promising, we’ll offer a refund.

To avoid any disappointment or disagreement, we kindly ask you to carefully review our extensive overview of what you'll be buying: www.trendwatching.com/trendreport, which includes a Table of Contents.

Obviously, tone of voice, focus, and visuals will be very much like our earlier work and our monthly Trend Briefings (www.trendwatching.com/trends), so rest assured that if you enjoy our briefings you will also enjoy this report.

If you have any doubts, please email Janna before ordering; he will be able to tell you if the report is 'for you' or not!

Do I officially subscribe to the report updates?

No, the updates are purely a bonus, and will last until August 2009. So you're buying a report that is supplemented with bi-monthly bonus updates. In that sense, it's not an official 'subscription service', as that would require a different payment structure.

Can I use the report outside my office/company?

The report is for internal use only: you and your team. You cannot resell or repackage the report (slides, texts and videos) in any possible way or form without our written consent. The same goes for presenting our content to an external audience (industry conferences, paid workshops etc).

If you're part of an agency or consulting firm, we're more than happy with you presenting (parts of) the content to your clients, but only if you always state the source ("trendwatching.com's 2009 Trend Report"); this should be both verbally communicated to clients, and clearly indicated on the actual slides you use.

Our previous (2007 & 2008) Trend Reports

I bought the previous edition(s): how is the 2009 report different?

Even though both reports come in the same format (allowing for easy mixing and matching), the content is obviously completely different, from the dozens of trends and hundreds of examples to the trend videos. The 2009 Trend Report contains lots of new trends, as well some important updates on trends covered in the 2008 edition.

Can I talk to you?
