MNH, Seoul Dairy Cooperative and Guaraná Antarctica are introducing caffeine-free alternatives, daily nutrition and added fibre through recognisable drink formats. The benefits are not new, but the way they are being packaged and distributed could make them relevant to a wider audience.
Japan-based MNH launched Genmai De Cafe, a caffeine-free coffee-style drink made entirely from roasted Japanese brown rice. It contains no coffee beans and gives people seeking to reduce their caffeine intake an alternative that still fits the occasion of having a warm, coffee-style drink.
Seoul Dairy Cooperative launched One Meal Daily Care, a dairy-based daily nutrition drink packaged in SIG’s bottle-shaped DomeMini carton. The single-serve format is designed for convenient, on-the-go consumption, connecting the nutritional proposition to everyday occasions such as a commute or work break.
Ambev expanded Guaraná Antarctica Zero with Fiber across Brazil following a successful pilot. The zero-sugar soda contains 4.4 grams of fibre per can, adding a functional benefit to an established soft-drink format and taking it into national distribution.
